Planting & Care Tips

Syngonanthus sp. Belem performs best in very soft, slightly acidic water with stable parameters. A nutrient-rich aquarium substrate, strong lighting and consistent CO₂ supplementation help support healthy growth.

Keep the plant away from excessive shade and provide balanced macro- and micronutrients, including iron. Hard water and sudden changes in water chemistry can cause poor growth or leaf deterioration.

Plant the stems carefully in the substrate and allow their distinctive crowns to develop naturally. Instead of frequently trimming the tops, replant healthy upper portions when necessary to maintain an attractive appearance.

Best suited for experienced aquascapers: This plant can struggle in hard-water or low-tech aquariums, so check your water hardness and CO₂ setup before purchasing.
