Planting & Care Tips

Plant Rotala Sp. Spikey stems individually in suitable aquarium substrate, leaving enough space between stems for light penetration and healthy growth. Grouping several stems together creates an attractive, bushy arrangement.

Provide suitable lighting, balanced nutrients and stable water conditions. Stronger lighting and CO₂ supplementation can encourage compact growth and more intense coloration. Under lower lighting, stems may become elongated and less dense.

Trim the tops regularly to encourage side shoots and maintain the desired shape. Healthy cuttings can be replanted to expand your plant group and create a lush, textured aquarium background.
