Planting & Care Tips

Plant Rotala Wallichii Mexican stems individually in suitable aquarium substrate, leaving enough space between stems for light penetration and healthy growth. Planting several stems together creates a fuller, more attractive display.

Provide strong lighting, consistent CO₂ supplementation and balanced macro- and micronutrients. Soft, slightly acidic water is generally preferred. Stable water conditions are particularly important for maintaining healthy foliage and encouraging attractive colour development.

Trim the upper stems carefully to maintain the desired height and replant healthy cuttings to expand your plant group. Avoid sudden changes in lighting, CO₂ or fertilisation, as this delicate plant can struggle when growing conditions fluctuate.
