Ludwigia Arcuata

Bring delicate foliage and stunning red-orange tones to your planted aquarium with Ludwigia Arcuata! Also known as Needle Leaf Ludwigia, this attractive aquatic stem plant features slender, pointed leaves that can develop beautiful copper, orange and red shades under suitable growing conditions.

Ludwigia Arcuata is a popular choice for aquascapers looking to add fine textures and colourful accents to freshwater aquariums. Its narrow leaves contrast beautifully with broad-leaved green plants, making it an excellent option for creating depth and vibrant planted-tank backgrounds.

Planting & Care Tips

Plant Ludwigia Arcuata stems individually in suitable aquarium substrate, leaving enough space between stems for light penetration and healthy development. Grouping several stems together creates a fuller, more attractive display.

Provide suitable lighting, balanced nutrients and stable water conditions. CO₂ supplementation can improve growth and colour intensity, while a balanced fertiliser supports healthy foliage. Under lower lighting, the plant may remain greener and develop longer spaces between its leaves.

Trim the upper stems regularly to encourage side shoots and maintain a dense, bushy appearance. Replant healthy cuttings to expand your aquarium planting.
