Planting & Care Tips

Plant Rotala Macrandra Red stems carefully in suitable aquarium substrate, leaving enough space between stems for light to reach the lower leaves. Planting in small groups creates a striking red display without overcrowding the stems.

Provide strong lighting, consistent CO₂ supplementation and balanced macro- and micronutrients. Soft to moderately hard water and stable water conditions help support healthy growth. Avoid sudden fluctuations in CO₂ or water chemistry, as this demanding plant can be sensitive to changing conditions.

Trim the stems carefully and replant healthy cuttings to expand your plant group. Remove deteriorating leaves promptly and ensure neighbouring plants do not shade its delicate foliage.

Important: Rotala Macrandra Red is best suited to established planted aquariums with reliable CO₂ injection and appropriate lighting. It may struggle in low-light, low-tech setups.
