Planting & Care Tips

Plant Rotala Wallichii Mexican Submerged stems individually in suitable aquarium substrate, leaving enough space between stems for light penetration and water circulation. Handle the delicate stems carefully during planting.

Provide strong lighting, consistent CO₂ supplementation and balanced macro- and micronutrients. Soft, slightly acidic water is generally preferred for Rotala wallichii, and stable water conditions help support healthy growth and attractive coloration.

As this is the submerged form, the foliage is already adapted to underwater growth. Some initial adjustment may still occur after planting. Remove deteriorating leaves, maintain consistent water conditions and avoid sudden fluctuations in lighting or CO₂.

Trim healthy stems when necessary and replant suitable cuttings to develop a fuller display. For the best results, grow this plant in an established aquarium with reliable CO₂ and fertilisation.
