Planting & Care Tips

Plant individual Rotala Macrandra Red stems carefully in nutrient-rich aquarium substrate, leaving enough space between stems for light penetration and healthy growth. Avoid overcrowding, as shaded lower leaves may deteriorate.

Provide strong lighting, stable CO₂ supplementation and balanced macro- and micronutrients. Soft to moderately hard water and consistent water conditions help support healthy foliage and deep red coloration.

Because the leaves are delicate, handle the stems carefully during planting. Avoid sudden fluctuations in CO₂, lighting and water chemistry. Trim healthy shoots when necessary and replant suitable cuttings to expand your plant group.

Best suited for experienced aquascapers: Rotala Macrandra Red performs best in established aquariums with reliable CO₂ injection, suitable lighting and consistent fertilisation.
