Aquarium Setup and Care

Simply place Small Duckweeds on the water surface and allow the plants to float freely. They absorb nutrients directly from the water and do not need to be planted in substrate.

Provide suitable lighting and gentle surface movement. Their rapid growth can help absorb dissolved nutrients, but duckweed should not replace regular water changes or proper filtration.

Small Duckweeds can provide surface shade and shelter for small fish and shrimp. However, a thick floating mat may block light from submerged plants and reduce gas exchange at the water surface. Remove excess fronds regularly to maintain a healthy balance.

Important Care Note

Duckweed can multiply quickly and become difficult to remove once established. Keep it contained within the aquarium, avoid transferring unwanted fragments to other water bodies and never release duckweed into natural ponds, lakes, rivers or drains. Dispose of excess plant material responsibly.
