• Best For: Planted aquariums and aquascaping projects

• Plant Placement: Background, foreground and carpet areas

• Lighting: Moderate to high lighting is recommended for the more demanding plants

• CO₂: Recommended for stronger growth, especially for Rotala wallichii, Rotala macrandra Mini Butterfly and dwarf hairgrass

• Substrate: Nutrient-rich aquarium substrate is beneficial

• Maintenance: Regular trimming, balanced fertilisation and stable water conditions help maintain healthy growth

Planting Tips

Arrange the taller Rotala varieties towards the back and use Staurogyne sp. Purple and Lysimachia nummularia to add structure to the foreground. Plant the dwarf hairgrass separately in small portions across the chosen carpet area.

Important: Some plants in this combo are more demanding than beginner-friendly aquarium plants. Strong lighting, stable CO₂ and consistent nutrients will help you achieve better growth and colour, particularly with Rotala wallichii and Rotala macrandra Mini Butterfly.
