How to Plant Anubias

Anubias should not be planted deeply into the aquarium substrate. The rhizome should remain exposed above the substrate to prevent it from rotting.

Attach the Anubias rhizome to driftwood, rocks or other aquarium hardscape using aquarium-safe glue, thread or another suitable method. Once established, the roots will naturally attach themselves to the hardscape.

Lighting and Care

Anubias are slow-growing plants that generally perform well under low to moderate aquarium lighting. Excessively strong lighting can encourage algae growth on their leaves.

CO2 injection is not essential for keeping Anubias, although CO2 and regular nutrients can support healthier growth.

Maintain good water quality and avoid burying the rhizome for long-term plant health.

Anubias can be used to create attractive natural aquascapes by attaching them to rocks, driftwood and other hardscape.
