Feeding
Nerite snails naturally graze on algae and biofilm. In aquariums with limited algae, supplement their diet with suitable algae wafers or other snail-safe foods.
Avoid adding them to very new aquariums where there is insufficient algae or biofilm available for grazing.
Aquarium Setup
Provide plenty of surfaces such as aquarium glass, rocks and driftwood for grazing. Stable water parameters and sufficient minerals are important for maintaining healthy shell growth.
Avoid copper-based medications, as copper can be harmful to snails.
